What is AnswerLine?
AnswerLine is an API for AI visibility teams, SEO agencies, developers, security teams, and agent builders that turns assistant and search-engine responses into structured JSON. It supports AI visibility, cited pages, sentence-level citations, country targeting, and 500-task batches, and integrates with ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Google Search, Google News, Slack, LangChain, and MCP. Plans run Free $0/mo, Lite $29/mo, Hobby $95/mo, Starter $240/mo, Growth $475/mo, and Business $950/mo.
What the API returns
One request shape covers six engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Google Search, Google AI Mode and Google News (Perplexity and Grok are paused — see below). A call takes a prompt or query plus a country, and returns the answer as text (and markdown on request), every cited source with its position and URL, and whatever else that engine surfaces — product/shopping cards, places, organic results, ads, People Also Ask, the knowledge graph, local pack. Requests can run synchronously (wait for the answer, up to five minutes) or as queued async tasks delivered by signed webhook, with batches of up to 500 tasks per call. Targeting goes down to a US state on Gemini and to a city (via location or a pre-built uule string) on Google Search and AI Mode.
Pricing: free credits, then a flat rate per credit at every tier
Every account gets 500 credits once, no card required, usable on any live engine at the same per-request price as paid plans. Paid tiers run Lite $29/mo (87,000 credits), Hobby $95/mo (285,000), Starter $240/mo (720,000), Growth $475/mo (1,425,000) and Business $950/mo (2,850,000) — all priced at exactly $0.33 per 1,000 credits, so the credit price doesn't change with volume, only the monthly commitment does. Concurrency scales with plan (3 slots free, up to 100 on Business); seats are unlimited on every paid tier. A ChatGPT answer costs 3 credits async or 5 synchronous (sync adds a flat +2 for holding the connection open); Copilot is the most expensive engine at 5/7. Only successful results are charged — a failed or queued-but-never-run request costs nothing, and credits don't roll over between monthly cycles.
Engine coverage: Perplexity and Grok are paused
ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Google Search, Google AI Mode and Google News are live today. Perplexity and Grok are listed throughout the site — pricing table, docs, SDKs — as "paused, coming back soon"; calling either currently fails (404 on synchronous calls, 422 on async tasks) with nothing charged. The site gives no date for when they'll return. Country coverage otherwise is broad: ChatGPT and Gemini answer from 213 countries, Google Search/AI Mode go down to city level, Copilot takes any country, and Google News covers the 71 countries with a Google News edition.
Documentation and developer experience
The per-engine docs are unusually candid about what's actually returned versus what's reserved in the schema: ChatGPT's page states plainly that searchQueries, inlineProducts and ads come back as empty arrays on the answers served today even though the fields exist, and that shoppingCards is omitted entirely (not an empty array) unless you ask for it. A credit-cost table, an annotated example response, and working Python/TypeScript examples with webhook signature verification accompany each engine. An OpenAPI spec (/openapi.json) backs the reference docs, and official MIT-licensed SDKs exist for TypeScript (@answerline/sdk on npm, v0.3.1) and Python (answerline on PyPI, v0.3.0), plus an n8n node, Zapier app, LangChain tools and a hosted MCP server.
Company: small, new, and transparent about both
AnswerLine is operated by Quantive Betéti Társaság (Quantive Bt.), a Hungarian limited partnership registered at Erzsébet körút 55, 1171 Budapest, company registration number 01-06-798410, per its own terms of service. The careers page describes itself as "a small, independent API company" not currently hiring for any role, and support is a single email address answered, per the About page, "by the people who build the API." The earliest dated blog posts and the first PyPI/npm SDK releases are from 14–17 September 2026, and the footer carries badges from roughly a dozen startup-launch directories (Fazier, LaunchIgniter, Findly.tools, Turbo0 and others) rather than press coverage — consistent with a solo- or small-team product that is about four weeks old at the time of this review, with no independent reviews or outside coverage found.
Data handling
The privacy policy (last updated 26 September 2026) is detailed for a product this size: request payloads and results are deleted within 6 days, database backups purge them within 30; it names its subprocessors (Stripe for billing, Cloudflare for hosting/CDN/email, Resend as an email fallback, Hetzner for EU server hosting, plus unnamed "data collection providers" that run the actual requests against the engines) and states AnswerLine doesn't run ad trackers or third-party analytics. There's no separate security/trust page (SOC 2, pen-test summary, DPA template) — /security/ returns a 404 — so compliance-sensitive buyers get the privacy policy's subprocessor list and retention schedule but nothing further without asking sales directly.
