ChatGPT ships OpenAI's newest models to paying users quickly: GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Astra are both available starting on Plus ($20/month), and Pro adds a dedicated Pro-reasoning tier plus, on the $500/month Pro 500 plan only, an "Ultrafast" inference mode. Free and Go users don't get these — they're capped at GPT-5.6 Luna and a GPT-5 Thinking Mini reasoning model, per OpenAI's plan comparison table. On the business side, Codex (OpenAI's coding agent) is bundled into every Business and Enterprise seat, and OpenAI says the workspace connects to 60+ third-party apps including Slack, Google Drive, SharePoint, GitHub, and Atlassian — a vendor claim we haven't independently verified against a current connector list.

Free is $0. Go is $8/month. Plus is $20/month. Pro is not one price: it's three separate monthly plans — Pro 100 ($100), Pro 200 ($200), and Pro 500 ($500, the only one that includes Ultrafast) — rather than the single "From $100" the pricing page's headline card implies. Business is priced per seat, with a required two-seat minimum per workspace: Standard seats are $25/month ($20/month billed annually) and Premium seats, which include 5x the usage and remove the standard five-hour usage cap, are $125/month ($100/month billed annually). Enterprise has no published price; it's sold through OpenAI's sales team. A one-person business cannot buy a single Business seat — OpenAI's community forum has an open, unanswered request for exactly this.

The pricing page's Go plan card still reads "This plan may include ads," but OpenAI's own ads help article says testing started in the United States on February 9, 2026 and has been expanding since. Ads appear only on Free and Go; Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu stay ad-free. Free users who don't want ads can switch to an "Ads-Free" mode instead of upgrading, but it comes with lower message limits and no access to image generation or deep research. Anyone picking the $8 Go tier specifically to avoid Free's limits should know it can carry sponsored content.

OpenAI's plan comparison table lists "Content is used to train our models" as "Opt-out available" for Free, Go, Plus, and Pro — meaning training is on by default and the user has to turn it off in Settings. Only ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces don't train on data by default, per OpenAI's enterprise-privacy page. Someone paying for Plus or Pro for sensitive personal or client work should not assume the paid tier changes this; the opt-out has to be set explicitly.
