Despite marketing that frames it as a pure AI agent, Layla's own Privacy Policy describes a hybrid product: an AI chat assistant built on OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic models, backed by human travel advisors who can be reached by phone (via Aircall) or booked for a consultation (via Calendly), with bookings routed through partners and payments processed by Stripe. The free iOS app (bundle ai.layla.app) shows a current-version release dated 12 October 2026 and a 4.7-star average from 203 ratings on the US App Store — live and actively updated, not abandoned. One open question: Apple's App Store developer field names the publisher as "Beautiful Destinations Booking GmbH," a different name from "Layla AI GmbH" used throughout Layla's own Terms, Privacy Policy and Imprint, all for the same app. Both could be the same entity under two names, or affiliated entities; we could not establish which from public sources.

Layla's Chatbot Terms of Service state plainly: "As of August 2026, Layla Premium is no longer offered to new subscribers." Layla's privacy policy (last updated 9 October 2026) is unusually specific for a consumer travel app: it names every sub-processor by role — OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic for AI generation; Stripe for payments; Braze, Intercom, Aircall and Calendly for communications; Mapbox, Google Maps and Browserless for maps and PDF generation; Sentry for error monitoring — states that none of these providers use traveler data to train their own models, and gives concrete retention periods (server logs up to 7 days, Google Analytics 14 months).
