Wash Bodega

Wash Bodega runs a public, no-login MCP server at washbodega.com/mcp (plus an A2A JSON-RPC endpoint at /a2a/v1 and an OpenAPI spec) that answers prices, hours, location and pickup policy to any agent, in English or Spanish, with no account. A second, separate server at washbodega.com/mcp/customer requires OAuth: a customer signs in to their own account and approves the connecting assistant before it can act. The granted scopes are narrow: pickup.request and pickup.read, documented step by step at washbodega.com/auth.md. They explicitly exclude the customer's name, phone, email, LaundryCard, rewards or payment details. The flow follows standard specs (RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata, RFC 8414 authorization-server metadata, RFC 7591 dynamic client registration, PKCE), which is more formal than most small local businesses bother with. Staff still key every request into Cents by hand, the platform that actually weighs the load and takes payment. The assistant files a request and does not complete a transaction.

Once approved, an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT can request a pickup for the next day (Houston time; a request is for tomorrow only, with today's date defaulting automatically per auth.md), check the status of requests it filed, and cancel one before staff enter it in Cents. It cannot create an account, enter payment details, or message the customer on its own. The customer can disconnect the assistant at any time from washbodega.com/agent/connect, which immediately stops its tokens from working.

Self-service machines start at $3.25 per vend (final price depends on machine size). Drop-off Wash & Fold is $1.29/lb next-day or $2.29/lb same-day, 15 lb minimum. Wash & Go (wash and dry only, you fold at home) is priced by the drop-off day, as set out below. Pickup & Delivery is $1.69/lb with free pickup and free delivery, 15 lb minimum. The store also quotes comforters/bulky items by item and commercial accounts by volume after a fit review. All current figures are owner-confirmed and published together on washbodega.com/pricing.

Monday–Thursday, Wash & Go is a flat $19.99 for up to 20 lb, with each additional pound at $1.09. Friday–Sunday, that flat package doesn't apply at all, and the whole order is charged at $1.09/lb instead. That makes Friday part of the cheaper per-pound side for anything under roughly 18 lb, and part of the more expensive side above that, which breaks the usual 'weekday deal, weekend markup' assumption. An agent estimating cost on a customer's behalf needs both the weight and the specific day to get the number right.

Wash Bodega names a core coverage area of five ZIPs around its W Bellfort store: 77035, 77096, 77071, 77074, 77085. Its pickup-delivery page separately lists 97 Houston ZIP codes plus 14 surrounding cities as 'accepted for staff-reviewed pickup requests,' but says explicitly that inclusion on that list does not confirm a route or schedule. Only an address entered in the Cents booking flow does. A customer outside the core five should expect a staff review step, not an automatic yes.

Wash Bodega is a single location at 6604 W Bellfort Ave, Houston, not a chain or franchise. It independently operates the site formerly run as Speed Queen Laundry and honors old laundry cards and balances from that prior operator. Store customer access is open 24/7 and staff are on site 24/7 (owner-confirmed), but that covers building access and on-site staffing only. Phone coverage, Wash & Fold/Wash & Go intake, and pickup/delivery windows are confirmed separately rather than guaranteed round the clock. The business cites 800+ Google reviews; we did not independently re-count that figure today, so it's reported as the vendor's own claim.
