What it actually does

Gumloop is a visual, no-code builder for AI agents and automations: connect to 30+ business apps and data sources, orchestrate any of 35+ AI models, and deploy the result as a chat agent, a scheduled workflow, or an embedded tool in Slack/Teams/email. It has grown beyond the drag-and-drop "workflow" builder it launched with (still available, now labeled legacy) into a broader agent platform: Gumloop Agents (natural-language agent creation), a "Company Brain" that indexes a team's own tools and files for grounded answers, MCP server hosting/proxying, and Gumstack, a separate layer that logs and audits tool calls made by agents across the org — including from Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Cursor, not just Gumloop itself, according to the company's own Series B announcement.

Where it's genuinely strong

Two things stand out. First, model independence: rather than locking a workflow to one LLM vendor, Gumloop lets a team mix providers per task and even bring their own API keys, which Benchmark general partner Everett Randle cited as a specific reason enterprises keep it over single-model competitors (TechCrunch, 2026-03-12). Second, the collaboration model — unlimited seats and teams are included even on the entry Pro plan, and agents built by one employee are shareable across the org, which is the mechanism the company says drives internal adoption ("they get addicted, they start building more agents"). Independently, TechCrunch reported a due-diligence anecdote from Benchmark: one enterprise customer piloted Gumloop against two competitors with equal access, and six months later staff were using Gumloop daily while the others sat unused — a secondhand account from the investor, not something AgentsIndex verified directly, but it's a more specific claim than the usual pull-quote.

How pricing works

As of 2026-08-27, gumloop.com/pricing lists exactly two tiers: Pro at $37/month (14-day free trial, no credit card details shown) and Enterprise (custom, contact sales). Pro includes 20,000 credits/month (7,400 base + 12,600 bonus, per the page's own FAQ), unlimited seats and teams, and 1 MCP server. Since August 5, 2026, Gumloop bills on a cost-plus model: it passes through model-provider token costs and compute at list price, then adds an 8% orchestration fee on the full task cost. Tool calls to paid third-party APIs (Apollo, Exa, Parallel, etc.) bill at each provider's price, minimum 1 credit per call. Go over the monthly 20k credits and agents simply stop running until you opt into pay-as-you-go billing at $0.005/credit — it is not enabled by default. One detail worth flagging for anyone planning to bring their own API keys to cut costs: doing so zeroes out the token-cost credits, but the orchestration fee then doubles from 8% to 16%, calculated against what the task would have cost without BYOK.

The free tier that quietly disappeared

Gumloop's own blog content — as recently as a June 9, 2026 comparison post still live on gumloop.com — describes a Free plan with 5,000 credits/month alongside the paid Pro tier. That plan is not on the current pricing page: as checked directly on 2026-08-27, gumloop.com/pricing shows only Pro (paid, 14-day trial) and Enterprise. This lines up with the timing of the company's August 5, 2026 "transparent pricing" announcement, which introduced the current cost-plus model. AgentsIndex could not find a Gumloop announcement stating the free tier was discontinued; it appears to have been quietly dropped in the same pricing overhaul. A prospective user today gets a 14-day trial of Pro, not an indefinite free plan.

Governance features are Enterprise-only

The Pro plan's feature comparison on the pricing page marks SCIM/SAML support, role-based access control, audit logs, a virtual private cloud option, org-wide connector policies, AI spend insights, custom data-retention rules, and data exports as unavailable on Pro — all live only on Enterprise, which is quote-only. Pro's admin surface is limited to per-agent connector guardrails rather than org-wide policy. This is a standard SaaS tiering pattern, not a defect, but it means a team of, say, 20 people that wants basic SSO or an audit trail has to go through a sales conversation rather than self-serve at any published price.

Security and compliance

Gumloop's public trust center (trust.gumloop.com) lists current SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance status, backed by a named SOC 2 Type II audit report covering October 2025–April 2026 and a Q4 2025 penetration test, both available on request through the portal. The center itemizes specific controls (MFA, encryption at rest/in-transit, infra-as-code, WAF, audit logging, DR testing) rather than a generic "enterprise-grade security" marketing line, which is a genuine positive signal — most tools at this stage don't publish this level of detail.

Funding and company stability

Gumloop raised a $17M Series A in January 2025, led by Nexus Venture Partners with First Round Capital and Y Combinator participating (Gumloop's own announcement, corroborated by contemporaneous funding-news coverage). It followed with a $50M Series B on March 12, 2026, led by Benchmark — Everett Randle's first deal at the firm — with Nexus VP, First Round, Y Combinator, BoxGroup, The Cannon Project, and Shopify also participating, per TechCrunch's report, which is independent of Gumloop's own blog post. The company started as a two-founder side project in a Vancouver bedroom in 2023 and, per TechCrunch, is now building out a dedicated sales force and scaling engineering headcount in response to enterprise demand — a shift from its earlier stated goal of staying a 10-person team. The product's changelog shows active weekly-cadence releases through at least August 25, 2026, which is a more concrete freshness signal than the funding news alone.

Independent review evidence is thin

AgentsIndex could not load G2's review page directly (403 response) to verify current rating and count. The only third-party numbers found come from Gumloop's own blog content (published June 2026): a claimed G2 rating of 4.8/5 from just over 7 reviews, and Product Hunt 5/5 from about 9 reviews. Both sample sizes are small enough that the rating itself carries little statistical weight, and because the source is Gumloop's own marketing copy rather than a screenshot of the review platform, AgentsIndex is not treating the specific star figures as verified — they are reported here as a vendor claim, not confirmed independently.

Check whether the Pro plan's 1 MCP Server Hosting and 3 MCP Server Proxying limits cover your intended tool surface. If you need RBAC, SCIM/SAML, audit logs, or a virtual private cloud, those controls sit on Enterprise.
