WSUP AI is a browser-based AI character chat platform: pick from a public roster (1,351 characters as of 26 September 2026, per the site's own live search counter) or build your own, and start chatting. The first reply from any public character requires no account — the product uses anonymous Firebase auth to keep a guest session alive, and logging in later upgrades that same session rather than starting over. This is confirmed by the site's own Terms of Service and matches what loads on the homepage without a login prompt.

The character creator collects a name, gender, category, description, visibility (public/private), a Filtered-or-Unfiltered chat setting, and an optional greeting, background and generated portrait. The vendor describes an automatic "rolling long-term memory" that compacts older turns into a running summary behind the persistent character setup and recent verbatim messages — this is the vendor's own account of how it works, published in a blog comparison against Character.AI, and not independently benchmarked here.

The site's content filter defaults to "Unfiltered" — every homepage load and blog page checked here (26 September 2026) shipped with contentFilter set to "unfiltered" out of the box, meaning mature/explicit public characters are visible without the visitor changing any setting. WSUP AI's own blog post on the topic states that public user-created characters go through review and that "sexualized minors and age-ambiguous characters are prohibited," and that "Unfiltered" is a content-rating label, not a promise of no moderation. In practice, the live public roster includes user-submitted characters whose visible descriptions contain explicit sexual and fetish content (verified by reading character metadata shipped in the homepage's own bootstrap data). Despite operating a mature-content platform with this default, neither the Terms of Service nor the Privacy Policy published on the site states a minimum user age.

WSUP AI's Privacy Policy states it stores chat messages and generated replies tied to a Firebase user ID so conversations can continue, that "admins may review recent conversations to operate and improve the preview," and that transport is encrypted but not described as end-to-end encrypted — the site's own blog post on private chat makes the same point explicitly. A strictly-necessary cookie (wsup_bid) is kept for up to 400 days for abuse protection and is stated not to be used for advertising.

No pricing page exists on the site (wsupai.app/pricing returns 404), and nothing on the site — homepage, blog, terms, or the character creator — describes a paid tier. The stated benefit of creating an account is saved chat history, kept characters, and "higher image or audio limits" versus a guest session; those higher limits are not quantified anywhere public. As far as could be established, WSUP AI is entirely free to use with no visible monetization.

WSUP AI's own blog states it launched as an independent successor after the unrelated "wsup.ai" service wound down between May and June 2026, and explicitly says WSUP AI "is not affiliated with the former wsup.ai service or its owners" and that no accounts, purchases or data transferred. Beyond that post, there is no About page (wsupai.app/about returns 404), no named company, and no team information published on the site. The launch was promoted through a paid press-release syndication service (Marketers Media/getreport.co); the Washington City Paper placement it links to carries the outlet's own disclosure, "This is a paid placement," on the article page itself.
