Pay-as-you-go pricing, confirmed on MiniMax's own docs, is $0.30/M input and $1.20/M output tokens for requests under 512K tokens (currently a 50%-off promotional rate off $0.60/$2.40 list); requests over 512K tokens bill the whole request at 2x. On OpenRouter, MiniMax's own first-party endpoint carries 83.8% of M3's traffic share among 11+ hosting providers, with ~98.8% measured uptime — a sign of real usage, not just a marketing claim.

M3's weights ship under MiniMax's own 'Community License' (not OSI-approved, not MIT despite some early confusion online): commercial users must display 'Built with MiniMax M3', and anyone whose product using it clears $20M/year revenue needs prior written authorization from MiniMax.
