What you actually get: a live call, not a chat window

You type a goal ('help me price my app', 'practice my interview'), the app assembles a cast of two to eight AI voices around it (six by default, editable mid-call), and you talk it through out loud. You can interrupt by speaking — whoever is talking stops — and you can pause the call, which also pauses the billing clock. Chat (typed messages) and, on any paid plan, image sharing (up to three photos/screenshots per message) sit inside the same conversation rather than being separate modes. After the call, History holds the full transcript plus a one-tap summary with key points and action items, and 'Join again' resumes the same cast. The app also carries a few things an earlier cast learned about you into later calls with the same cast, which you can clear from Settings. Source: vendor product pages. Picking a model vs. picking a voice — these are two different things

A 'Models' tab lets you staff seats with named models — Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, Qwen, DeepSeek and others — instead of the default role-based cast (host, skeptic, etc.). But per the vendor's own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, every seat's spoken voice is generated by OpenAI's realtime voice models; only the words (the cast, briefs and summaries, and presumably each seat's reply text when you pick a specific model) are generated through OpenRouter, which is how non-OpenAI models such as Claude or Grok get into the room at all. In practice this means 'putting Grok in the call' gets you Grok's text, read aloud in an OpenAI-synthesized voice — not Grok's own voice output, which doesn't exist as a product. That's a reasonable architecture (neither Anthropic nor xAI sell a consumer voice API), but it's worth knowing if you expect the models' native voice assistants. How the minutes and pricing work

New accounts get three free minutes of call time, total, across all calls, no card required — that's a lifetime allowance, not a daily reset, and since 17 September 2026 it also applies retroactively to older free accounts (previously-used free time counts against the three minutes). Past that, it's subscription-only: 30 minutes/month for $4.99, 60 for $9.99 (marked 'most popular'), 90 for $13.99, or 120 for $17.99, all auto-renewing monthly through the App Store or Play Store. Minutes are shared across all your calls, a single call can run up to 30 minutes, unused monthly minutes do not roll over and are forfeited at renewal, and refunds go through Apple/Google under their policies, not the vendor. Per-minute cost actually improves slightly at the top tier (about $0.15/min at 120 minutes vs. $0.17/min at 30 minutes). Source: vendor pricing page and Terms §6. Who's behind it, and how new it is

AI Group Call is built by Neu Software LLC, a Delaware LLC registered 7 October 2021. The listed developer on Apple's App Store is Tashfeen Ahmed, and Google Play's 'More by' section attributes the app to 'Tash A' — consistent with a single-founder or very small operation rather than a funded team; no funding information was found anywhere. The same company also operates freellmapi.co, an LLM API reseller — a plausible reason the app can route text generation through OpenRouter. The app's Product Hunt listing shows it launched in 2026 with no reviews yet, and neither the App Store nor Play Store listing displays a public star rating, consistent with a product that's still accumulating its first real user base — not a finding against it, just context for how little independent track record exists to check claims against. Version history shows active, fairly frequent updates (v1.0.4 on 8 Sept 2026, v1.0.7 on 25 Sept 2026). What happens to your audio, text and photos

The vendor's privacy policy is unusually specific for an app this size: it names each subprocessor and what it gets — OpenAI (live voice generation, transcription, image understanding), OpenRouter (text generation for cast/briefs/summaries), Hetzner in Finland (EU) for application hosting and database, Cloudflare for the website, and Resend for transactional email. Call audio is streamed live and not retained as a recording; what persists is the text transcript, any shared images (stripped of metadata), and call metadata. The vendor states it does not use audio, messages or images to train AI models, does not sell data, and does not use data for advertising. Shared images and conversation history are deleted when you delete your account, which can be done in-app immediately. The service is restricted to users 18 and older. These are the vendor's stated practices, not independently audited. Source: vendor Privacy Policy. [https://aigroupcall.app/privacy/]

Where it doesn't fit

It's a phone app only — no desktop or web client — so it doesn't suit someone who wants this at a keyboard. Each call is capped at 30 minutes, minutes don't carry over between billing periods, and liability is contractually capped at $100 or your trailing-12-month payments, whichever is greater (Terms §14) — standard for a small consumer app, but worth knowing before relying on it for anything high-stakes. The service is adults-only (18+) by its own Terms, so it isn't positioned for classroom or under-18 use. And because every participant is explicitly AI with no human moderation in real time (review happens only if you flag a response afterward), it isn't a substitute for a professional opinion, which the vendor's own Terms also state directly. Check the minute cap on the plan you choose against how long your sessions usually run. The 120 min tier is the only one that explicitly includes up to 30 minutes per call and a shared room clock.
